MUSKINGUM, Ohio—Behind a record breaking day for Erin Romito, the Pioneers split on the final day of the OAC / HCAC Crossover Tournament hosted by Muskingum.
After posting 29 kills in Saturday's first match, just two shy of her own record for kills in a match, Romito was tied for the program record for career kills. Her first of 15 kills in Saturday's match against Capital made her the all-time leader in career kills breaking the old record of 1,361 formerly held by Meghan Bowers.
Audrey Brown racked up 35 digs, along with four service aces in the win as Katelyn Maller added eight kills to help lift the Pioneers to a 3-1 win over Capital University in their final match of the weekend.
In Saturday's first match, the Pioneers fell just short to tournament host, Muskingum University 3-2 despite nine service aces. Maddie Lovern contributed 13 kills, as Brown added 22 digs in the loss.
Transy travels to Manchester University Friday to open conference play. Friday's match is set for 7 pm.
