Greencastle, Ind. – The Transylvania Track & Field team continued its trek through the indoor season by competing in the DePauw Indoor Track and Field Invitational at the DePauw Indoor Track Center on Saturday afternoon.
Saturday's meet saw several Pioneers set new personal best times. Interim head coach Sean McNulty was pleased with the effort the team put forth as they finished their preparations for the upcoming Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
"We saw lots of personal records broken today," commented McNulty. "We are really excited about the direction this team is trending as we prepare for the conference championships next week!"
Jacob Burnam paced the way for Transylvania, claiming victory in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:56.30. The mark breaks the Transylvania school record that Burnam set earlier this season and is once again the fastest time posted thus far this season in the Great Lakes Region.
On the women's side, Kali Nolan posted a fifth-place finish in the women's 200 meters with a time of 28.18 seconds.
In the men's field events, Gunnar Eaton picked up a fourth-place finish in the men's weight throw event with a final toss of 15.58 meters.
The Pioneers will now turn their attention to next weekend's HCAC Indoor Championships. The meet will take place on Saturday, February 22, at the Sports and Recreation Center on the campus of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. The meet is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. start from Terre Haute, Indiana.
