Lexington, Ky. - The Transylvania swimming and diving team continued their busy weekend of competition with a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference dual meet against the Franklin College Grizzlies at the William T. Young Campus Center on Saturday afternoon.
The strong Grizzlies' side swept the day, defeating the Transylvania women's team by the score of 168-68, the men's team 182-39, and capturing the overall victory from the Pioneers, 350-107.
The Pioneers' lone victory of the night came via Mattie Fogle in the women's 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 11:37.72. Fogle also teamed with Emma Lloyd, Sami Monarch, and Benton Patrick to claim second place in the women's 400-yard freestyle relay (3:59.91). Additionally, Fogle captured third place in the women's 100-yard freestyle event (59.15 s).
On the men's side, Drew Dodds placed second in the men's 500 freestyle event with a time of 5:12.33. Dodds followed with a third-place finish in both the men's 100 breaststroke (1:03.30) and the men's 400 medley relay, where the junior teamed with Connor Hood, Kigen Chemirmir, and Ben Smith in the relay race.
Up next, the Pioneers will complete their busy weekend with a dual meet against the Sewanee Tigers tomorrow afternoon in Lexington. The meet is scheduled for a 12 noon start at the William T. Young Center.
