Lexington, Ky. – The Transylvania women's soccer team battled the Anderson University Ravens to a 0-0 draw in double overtime at Pat Deacon Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The draw was the first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match of the year for both sides. With the result, Transylvania's record goes to 2-6-2 overall while the Ravens move to 6-1-2 on the year.

Transylvania outshot Anderson 7-2 in the first half but was unable to capitalize on any of its chances, leading to a 0-0 score at the halftime break.

The Ravens came storming back in the second half to outshoot Transylvania 8-4. However, the Pioneers' defense held firm, and the game remained scoreless at the end of regulation.

The Pioneers' best opportunity for the go-ahead moment came via a strike from Meron Roach in the 96th minute. However, the Anderson goalkeeper made the save to preserve the 0-0 score.

With neither side able to manufacture a quality attempt in the second overtime period, the game ended in a scoreless draw.

Transylvania goalkeeper Morgan Patton collected seven saves in the draw, earning her second shutout of the season.

The Pioneers are back in action on Wednesday, October 9, as they travel to Richmond, Indiana, for an HCAC matchup against the Earlham College Quakers. First touch between the Pioneers and the Quakers is set for 3:30 p.m. at Matlack-Messer Stadium.
