Ada, Ohio – The Transylvania men's soccer team wrapped up its weekend road trip to the north with a 4-0 loss to the Hope College Flying Dutchmen at Kerscher Stadium on the campus of Ohio Northern University on Saturday night.

The Pioneers and Dutchmen battled evenly throughout the first half, trading shot attempts before settling on a 0-0 draw at the halftime intermission.

Hope's offense broke through just one minute into the second half as Charlie Rogers slipped a shot past Transy goalkeeper Drew Grisham and into the back of the net. Grisham tallied six saves for Transylvania in the loss.

Less than ten minutes later Hope doubled its lead to 2-0 with a scoring strike by Alec Belcastro.

The Pioneers fell prey to the offensive power of the Dutchmen down the stretch, relinquishing two more goals to push the final score to 4-0 in favor of Hope.

The Dutchmen dominated the offensive portion of the field throughout the night, outshooting Transylvania 25-6, including a 16-2 advantage in the pivotal second half.

With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 2-2 on the season while the Dutchmen improve to 3-1.

Up next for Transylvania is a trip to Westerville, Ohio to face the Otterbein University Cardinals on Saturday, September 14. The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. start at Clements Field.
