Transylvania’s Harrison Lane named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for second straight season

Norman, Okla. – Transylvania men's golf senior Harrison Lane was selected to the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America list, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced this week.

Lane, a senior from Lexington, Kentucky (Lafayette HS), earned his second consecutive Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors, an annual award that honors student-athletes and their top-flight performance on the links and in the classroom.

In order to be eligible for the award, student-athletes must possess sophomore, junior, or senior academic eligibility, produce a stroke average under 79.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.2.

For the abbreviated 2019-20 season, student-athletes were required to compete in 40 percent of the Pioneers' competitive rounds.

Lane competed in all of Transylvania's fall tournaments and reeled off a stroke average of 78.36. The senior produced a season-low 72 in his final tournament of the 2019-20 season during the opening round of the Royal Lakes/Oglethorpe Fall Invitational in Flowery Branch, Georgia.

As a junior and sophomore, Lane competed in the NCAA Men's Golf Division III National Championships, including the 2019 edition which was hosted by Transylvania University at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Kentucky

He is the 11th winner of the award among all Pioneer men's golfers dating back to the 2014-15 season.
